CES Champion 
​Advisory & Action Committee

 The Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) Champion Advisory & Action Committee (AAC) is made up of patients, their friends & family, industry leaders, and other CES advocates who come together to pioneer and change the field of CES.

These are highly motivated individuals that are passionate about changing the way CES is perceived, diagnosed, and treated. These individuals are the voice of the cauda equina syndrome community; bringing creative project ideas to enact changes in advocacy, community education and outreach, and patient support methods,  to the attention of the Board of Directors (BOD). The AAC is a sub-committee serving directly under the BOD working closely with them to drive positive change in the lives of those suffering from CES.

The AAC drives and directly participates BOD approved projects to support the foundation's objectives in CES research, patient support, education, and advocacy to fulfill the it's mission to improve the quality of life and care for individuals living with cauda equina syndrome and associated disorders.

Community Educators:

1. Provide educational resources provided by the Foundation to our constituents.
2. Answer general questions about CES and related disorders.
3. Develop and implement educational programs.
4. Develop educational materials for other sub-committees for their programs and advocacy.
5. Social media & marketing of educational materials
6. Collaborate with the Board of Directors, and Medical Advisory, Scientific, & Review Board in the Annual International Cauda Equina Syndrome Symposium
7. Funding/Fundraising/Grant Research
8. Collaborate with healthcare providers for educational opportunities
9. Other duties as needed.

Patient's Voice & Advocates:

1. Patient & Caregiver Outreach- Listen to their concerns, needs, and questions relating to the operations and programs of the Foundation.
2. Develop & implement possible programs and solutions to problems facing our constituents.
3. Bring issues of the constituents to the Board of Directors, Medical Advisory, Scientific & Review Board, and other committees serving under the Board of Directors.
4. Develop and implement Advocacy Campaigns on behalf of the Foundation's constituents- become their voice. 
5. Funding/Fundraising
6. Collaboration with constituents, patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, the Board of Directors, the Medical Advisory, Scientific, & Review Board, and other committees serving under the Board of Directors.
7. Other duties as needed. 

Fundraising for a Cause:

1. Grant Research for the Medical Advisory, Scientific, & Review Board, programs, special Foundation projects and needs
2. Building donor relations.
3. Event planing for charity fundraising- Marathons, golf tournaments, concerts, galas & balls, art auctions, if you can dream it into a fundraiser (with Board of Director approval)- you can make it happen. 
4. Developing & implementing fundraising campaigns- Giving Tuesday (every November), CES Awareness Month (every May), special projects, sponsorships, and more.
5. Supporting the mission of the Foundation through fundraising efforts.
6. Create CES Awareness Swag, from design, to production, to sales.
7. Social media / Marketing for fundraising purposes: Amazon Smile, CES Awareness Swag, Facebook Fundraising and Giving Campaigns, and more.
8. Collaboration with the Board of Directors.
9. Patient & Caregiver tribute outreach.
10. Other duties as needed.
